About the Author
Frantz Fanon (1925-1961) was born in Martinique. After studying medicine in France, he served a residency in Algeria and soon joined the Algerian Nationalist Movement.
Fanon is considered one of the most influential Black voices of the 20th century; The Wretched of the Earth, his most internationally acclaimed book, has been translated into over 25 languages and has over 1 million copies in print in English alone. His A Dying Colonialism and Black Skin, White Masks are also available from Grove Press.
Frantz Fanon died in Washington, D.C. at the age of 36.
